La Piedra Milenaria de Rubén Aguilera es la tercera colección de cuentos de la serie, El Cuarteto de Chuquicamata. Las dos primeras son El Moscardón (2018) y Muñeca de loza (2019). Corre el año 1959 y la mina de cobre de la Anaconda Company, junto al pueblo de Chuquicamata. La mina más grande a tajo abierto del mundo, que amenaza, con dislocar el eje terrestre causando un cataclismo apocalíptico.
Las culturas originarias estallan con la fuerza de un aluvión. Un niño protagonista de estas historias y sus compañeros de clase, son cómplices en la fundación de un museo arqueológico, con expediciones tan hilarantes como peliagudas a la puna andina.
Los niños excursionistas se dan a la tarea de desentrañar el misterio de La Piedra Milenaria. En flagrante litigio con el sacerdote y etnólogo Gustave Le Paige de Walke que pretendía convertir su centro arqueológico de San Pedro de Atacama en un museo de fama universal. Allí se esconden reservas mundiales del litio, el llamado oro blanco. Se abre la lucha por el agua de sus comunidades ancestrales.
Rubén Aguilera nació en Chuquicamata, Chile 1948. En Antofagasta se educa con los Misionaire de Marie Inmaculée, . Ingresa a la universidad pontificia jesuita: Encabeza la revuelta estudiantil de 1968. Joven poeta y redactor de la revista cultural O Tempora y de la revista política TET. Es presidente de la Federación de estudiantes en 1970. Permanece clandestino en Chile, tras el golpe militar de estado en 1973. Es arrestado en 1975 recorriendo, durante dos años, varios centros de tortura y campos de concentración de la dictadura de Pinochet. Llega a Suecia en 1977, como refugiado político, donde se titula de Sociólogo en 1983 en la universidad de Lund. Ha publicado ocho libros de poesía, dos colecciones de cuentos. Está representado en numerosas antologías. Está traducido al sueco, persa, alemán, inglés y polaco. Ha obtenido becas del Consejo de Cultura y El Fondo de Escritores y ha formado parte de la directiva de La Sociedad de Escritores del Sur de Suecia.
