About the Book

The Pigeon Chronicles will touch the hearts of readers of all ages. Little Pete, a 21st Century adolescent from Alexandria, Virginia has a fancy to shoot pool with a young George Washington and ventures to 1748. Before finding George, he meets a mix of characters including a pirate and a young colonial beauty. Thunderstruck, he plays the game of his life. The pirate, Nate Teach, has affection for those who live in the realm of his subculture. A pirate without a ship and broken, he attempts to hustle young Pete at the billiard table but ends having an epiphany...On a quest from hell, the pirate stands there with pool-cue in hand. Young Pete stares in awe as they lock eyes. The destroyer says, "I'm a sea rover mate, but can't you tell? I fly the black flag and send them to hell?" His temptress stands and pouts while a red glow sparkles from a ruby set in her ivory fang. The contest begins. And Mima Piccola, the tough spirited colonial beauty, who is tougher than the average 21st century adolescent. When young Pete jumbles his time travel pursuit, he finds her 60 year old journal and sheds tears: October, 1748My Dearest Pete, I miss you dearly and hope we meet again. You left a short note and said you will return. We only spent a short time together and I hope nothing bad has happened. We connect in that special way, as if the same thoughts run through our minds. You are the one. I wish to get old with you. I love you and always will!Indulge in a tale of mystery, time travel, spirituality and pigeons that outshine modern technology, colorful-winged birds that superintend what lies ahead, and not to mention... a young George Washington.
About the Author: Stephen Torelli, a U.S. Army Veteran and former paratrooper grew up in Newburgh, New York within the historic Mid-Hudson Valley. Surrounded by remnants of Colonial History, such as George Washington and Henry Knox Headquarters, West Point Military Academy, and the Hudson River, Stephen learned to appreciate this distinct era. While attending Liberty Street grammar school, located a few blocks from Washington's residence during the last years of the American Revolution, Stephen, at every turn visited Hasbrouck House. Not only surrounded by Colonial History, Newburgh had many billiard parlors and pigeon racers where Stephen, during his younger days encountered several enterprising people, go-getters to say the least where he learned that even pool hustlers and gamblers have a code of conduct. Stephen Torelli has a Bachelor in History and a Master in English. He writes and resides in Bay Ridge Brooklyn, teaches Citizenship to inner city kids, shoots pool on occasion, loves cooking and travels every chance he gets with his lovely wife, Lory.
