Hand- en leerboeken beschrijven ziekteprocessen, farmacologie en interventies; dit boek begint bij de patiënt en haar probleem om vervolgens naar het ziekteproces en de behandeling toe te redeneren.

Iedere casus beschrijft een specifiek probleem, sommigen simpel, anderen complex. Aan het eind van de casus volgt een meerkeuzevraag. De keuzemogelijkheden worden toegelicht met toevoeging van praktisch advies, verwijzingen naar literatuur en verdieping. Steeds wordt bij de casus rekening gehouden met de context van de patiënt, onder déze omstandigheden, op dit moment.

About the Author:

Doeke Keizer is als huisarts werkzaam in Harkema (Friesland). Daarnaast ook mede-oprichter van Transcare-pijn.

Paul van Wilgen is psycholoog, fysiotherapeut en epidemioloog. Tevens ook mede-oprichter van Transcare-pijn.

Marten van Wijhe is anesthesioloog en voormalig hoofd Pijncentrum bij Universitair Medisch Centrum Groningen.
