About the Book

It is a book introducing a pioneer Economist from Assam in India, who brought in revolutionary changes in the socio-economic spheres among the poorest section of the society in his homeland, bringing in better economic opportunities and hope for a better future. His pathbreaking research on different aspects of Assam Economics from mid 1950's largely influential in guiding the newly independent India's union and state governments to formulate economic policies for the independent Assam and India. During his lifetime, he authored total 115 numbers of books establishing himself as a leading light in the intellectual horizon of Assam and India
About the Author: Arnab Jan Deka is a leading author and columnist with many novels, short story collections, poetry collections, essay collections, dramas and biographies to his credit. His biography has been incorporated as the youngest Indian writer in the prestigious 'Who's Who of Indian Writers 1999' by the apex literary body Sahitya Academy-- The Academy of Letters of India Government. His novel 'Childhood Dreams' has been adapted for a popular mini TV series. Winner of several prestigious literary awards in India for his short story and novel, he is also a reputed river engineer, eco-technocrat, jurist, TV actor, screenwriter and social entrepreneur. He partnered in many international multi-disciplinary literary, media and environmental projects, and currently adorning the office of the International Honorary Chairman of Indo-British campaign project 'Save the Brahmaputra River'.
