Friedrich Nietzsche, einer der frühen Pioniere des Unbewussten, erkannte deutlich, dass die Bewusstseinsentwicklung des Menschen nur möglich ist, wenn er sich mit den Tiefen seines Wesen vertraut gemacht hat und sich zu dem bekennt, was er in seiner Ganzheit wirklich ist. Die Aufforderungen "Erkenne Dich selbst!" und "Sei, der Du bist!" sind bis heute die zentralen und zeitlosen Befreiungsbotschaften der Tiefenpsychologie. Ihre ursprünglichen Modelle wurden natürlich differenziert und weiter entwickelt, aber ihre wesentlichen Aussagen über das lebensbestimmende und kreative Potenzial des Unbewussten werden, nachdem sie viele Jahre verleugnet wurden, heute wieder durch die Neurowissenschaften nachdrücklich bestätigt. So ist das vorliegende Buch neben seinen spannenden historischen Kontroversen gleichzeitig auch eine kenntnisreiche und ausgewogene Einführung in die Grundeinsichten der Tiefenpsychologie.
About the Author: Dr. theol. h. c. Gerhard Wehr, geb. 1931 in Schweinfurt. Nach langjähriger Tätigkeit auf verschiedenen Feldern der Diakonie innerhalb der evangelischen Landeskirche Bayerns war er von 1970 bis 1990 Lehrbeauftragter an der Diakonenschule (Fachakademie für Sozialpädagogik) Rummelsberg. Jetzt freier Schriftsteller in Schwarzenbruck bei Nürnberg, Verfasser zahlreicher Studien zur neueren Religions- und Geistesgeschichte, darunter Biografien über Martin Buber, C. G. Jung, Rudolf Steiner, Jean Gebser, H. P. Blavatsky, Friedrich Rittelmeyer; Editionen zur deutschen Mystik. Ein Großteil seiner Werke ist in europäische und asiatische Sprachen übersetzt.
