About the Book

  • An anthology of six new and award-winning plays by female playwrights.
  • Ideal for use in schools, colleges, universities, youth theatres, amateurs and community groups.
  • Topical and challenging themes for students of drama, feminist theatre and women's studies looking for up-to-date material.
  • Many roles for women and girls; suitable for study for performance or as part of courses in Women's Studies or Feminist Theatre Studies.
  • All the plays have been produced and performed in the UK to acclaim.

An inspiring collection from acclaimed contemporary women playwrights with contributions ranging from verbatim plays to political drama.

Dealing with controversial topics head on - such as child poverty in Africa, the Palestinian question, child abuse - and with exciting female roles center stage, this carefully selected volume of plays offers a wide variety of material for both study and performance.
