About the Book

This book of poems in free verse is a small literary and visual jewel. To the talent and strength of Maia Losch's pen, the illustrator Lucía Franco adds her hermeneutic layer. The result is a plethora of emotions that capture the reader and cut through them with sharp reflections, uncontrolled passions and endless longing. The text floats on an unfinished bridge between Uruguay and Israel. A one way journey that is a return. A voracious search for meaning, honest and ruthless.

About the Author:

Maia Losch was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1971. Daughter of an Israeli mother and Uruguayan father, she grows up in an environment where two different cultures come together to create an environment of tolerance and openness. This world of possibilities, the freedom to choose together with her innate intellectual curiosity, turned into a youth marked by confusion and great overwhelm, in an incessant search that took her to explore academic areas as diverse as literature, anthropology, plastic arts, music and philosophy, marketing and logistics, without being able to opt for any of these activities as a life path. At the age of 25, convinced that distancing herself for a while from everything known could help her, she decides to travel to Israel to try her luck. Since then, she has lived there, now with her husband and two children. However, it is writing that lingers and remains, unique and despotic as an obsession, throughout the years.
