En esta investigación se analiza la producción poética experimental cubana contemporánea, no solo por su relevancia artística y cultural en el ámbito de las letras hispánicas sino también porque forma un corpus singular fuera de los cánones literarios y de las artes plásticas. El volumen también incluye entrevistas a algunos de los poetas y enlaces al proyecto digital que complementa este estudio.Nos hallamos ante unas escrituras que se resisten a encajar en cualquier canon, literario o artístico, y que superan acercamientos científicos y metodológicos de análisis. Son textos que se saltan fronteras de género y evaden sin problemas la censura y la mutilación como algunos de los poemas seleccionados que han pasado la prueba del tiempo y presentan una andadura fértil e indefinida. Nos referimos tanto a los poetas cubanos de dentro de la Isla como los que viven fuera de su patria como exiliados.Este volumen incluye una lista amplia y representativa de poetas cubanos, clásicos y noveles, del siglo XX y XXI, que practican estilos muy diversos. Algunos de estos autores son Guillermo Cabrera Infante, Severo Sarduy, Rafael Almanza, Francisco Garzón Céspedes, Pedro Juan Gutiérrez, Pedro Marqués de Armas, Rolando Sánchez Mejías, Carlos A. Aguilera, Rogelio Saunders, Sinecio Verdecia Díaz, Francis Sánchez, etc.Dentro del marco de este estudio se puede afirmar que la poesía experimental cubana contemporánea de dentro y fuera de la Isla, se caracteriza por presentar una complejidad de lenguajes formales, temáticas y negociaciones simbólicas que se escapan a las posibles intenciones autoriales y de época. Las dimensiones discursivas y dialógicas entre literatura y sociedad, literatura y poder, literatura e identidad permean estas escrituras al tiempo que contribuyen a crear un corpus heterogéneo, heterodoxo y contracultural único en la idiosincrasia cubana. En estos textos el concepto de ruptura, alienación y otredad son ejes temáticos frecuentes.Este volumen se enfoca principalmente en el análisis crítico de una selección representativa de escrituras poéticas contemporáneas que no están estructuradas en forma versal (en su mayor parte), y que han sido producidas dentro y fuera de Cuba en distintos textos culturales y que están vinculadas directa o indirectamente al fenómeno del exilio y el autoexilio. Muchos de los poetas seleccionados son poetas exiliados o viven dentro de Cuba experimentando una especie de autoexilio. Estas escrituras no convencionales o, si se quiere, "excrituras" forman parte, sin embargo, de un corpus plástico-literario comprometido por partida doble, ética y estéticamente. Los autores parten en sus poemas de la necesidad de componer textualidades alteradas, iconoclastas y heterodoxas como reacción a múltiples crisis estéticas, existenciales, sociales, culturales de paradigmas. Estas escrituras poéticas no suelen tener cabida dentro del mercado editorial tradicional, y tampoco suelen ser objeto de interés por parte de la crítica y, sin embargo, forman parte integral de la producción artística de Cuba validando las distintas dimensiones existenciales del ser cubano y su identidad.Son textos profundamente creativos y comprometidos social y estéticamente. Dentro de su singularidad son poemas receptivos a la tradición literaria y artística que los precede y también entran en diálogo con los signos de su época con el trasfondo crítico del dolor, el olvido, la soledad y la condición de la eterna espera. Los poemas en su propio estilo no canónico, en una tierra de nadie y en un extrañamiento comunicativo radical con el cristalizado lenguaje referencial al uso, nos invitan a decodificar universos que, en definitiva, reescriben aspectos integrales de la historia individual y colectiva de un pueblo, una isla y una época.
