About the Book

The Poetic Stylings of Myael Simpkins, is the first of a series of poetry books designed to capture the emotions of it's readers. It contains more than fifty poems that are placed systematically in sections that represent specific emotions. With sections like "Antagonized" and "Optimistic" the reader can go to a section that they can personally relate to. Once a person begins reading, they are able to share the emotions of the author. Each section begins with a section title and photograph. The title gives the emotion and photography displays a visual of what is being expressed. The poems are relatively short, but powerfully written engage each reader. In keeping with the multimedia platform of his writing creations. This book will have a soundtrack specifically designed to accompany the poetry. The music will take each emotionally expression to a higher level and grow the readers experience. It is the authors hope that when a reader is experiencing a certain emotion they will be able to find a section where the author felt the same or a section that will uplift them in times of dispair
About the Author: Often you will hear Myael Simpkins use the words, "music equals life." Profoundly, not only does music equate to Simpkins's life, but all artistic expressions as a whole. From a young age, Myael found much joy in creating things. Activities such as drawing cartoon characters, using building blocks, writing mini-comic books stories, were the norm. He and his younger sister, author Avery Griffin, would constantly make up stories and act them out. It's no surprise that both would eventually take that creative energy and share it with the world. Myael Simpkins shared his creative energy throughout high school and into college. He wrote his first poem as a junior at St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington, New York. Unable to express repressed feeling for a crush his raw and youthful emotions poured onto a page. This poem, The Game, set the stage for what became a lifetime of poetry writing. Around the same time, Simpkins also began writing early piano riffs and these form the foundation for the music he writes today. In 2003, he submitted a few of his poems to an online poetry website. And within a year, he had received three Editor's Choice Awards. His poems, The Game, Scarred, and One were placed into conglomerate poetry books. It was these awards and the publications that inspired him to try his hand in writing a full novel. Between 2004 and 2010, Simpkins wrote his first suspense mystery thriller novel. Just completing Emancerian Chronicles: Signs of the First Emancer was a huge achievement, but editing and publishing took another five years. During that time, Simpkins began his sequel and finally decided it was time to put together a poetry anthology. In 2011, he began his small business Transcendental Expressions. It became a platform for him take all of his creative expressions and put it into action. He began with live piano performances, Poetry readings, and then in 2015, he finally published Emancerian Chronicles: Signs of the First Emancer. With the release of his first book, Simpkins decided that he would share his poetry next. The Poetic Styling of Myael Simpkins, is a testimony to his continued passion and drive to create. His long-term goal is to release one hundred books that combine all his creative passions!
