Poetics of Faith is more than a collection of religious poetry; it is the intersection of faith, art, philosophy, and inspiration.
Faith relies on imagination, introspection, and inspiration. Quality poetry invokes all of these attributes within us, and sacred poetry has been creating a pathway between the divine and the everyday for hundreds of years. Metaphor and parabolic imagery allow us reach out and touch God with our senses along with our hearts.
Poetry is both art form and philosophical treatise, giving us the perfect platform for reflecting on the importance of serving the Lord in our daily lives, the answers to questions we haven't yet asked, and the solutions to problems we face in our walk with God.
In this compilation of deeply meaningful, thought-provoking, and beautiful poetry, retired Methodist minister James F. Morin breathes new life into the process of personal worship and inspiration.
About the Author: Even at ninety-five years of age, James F. Morin is still bursting with creativity and faith. Throughout his long life, James has served God in many ways-as a teacher, a preacher, an example, and an inspiration.
Now retired, he stood behind the pulpit as a Methodist minister for many years, serving large and small congregations all over the state of Indiana. Far from defeated by age and not content with leaving his calling behind, James continues to serve the Lord by putting his creative mind to work. He has published eight books prior to Poetics of Faith.
