About the Author: Photis M. Panayides, PhD, serves as a professor of shipping and maritime economics at the Cyprus University of Technology. He specializes in shipping and logistics management and has twenty-three years' experience teaching chartering at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Panayides's academic credentials include a bachelor of science with honors in maritime business and maritime law and a doctorate in shipping and maritime economics. He has held positions at the University of Plymouth, the Honk Kong Polytechnic University, and the National University of Singapore, in addition to numerous collaborations with international universities and business schools.
Panayides is the author of Professional Ship Management: Marketing and Strategy and the first two editions of Principles of Chartering. He is currently coauthoring Shipping Performance Management.
A previous member of the Council of the International Association of Maritime Economists, Panayides served as the vice president of the board of directors of the Cyprus Ports Authority.
