Trends in economic development rely on increasing human knowledge, which stimulate the development of new, sophisticated technologies. With their utilization production is raised and the intent is to decrease natural resources consumption and protect and save our life environment as much as we can. At the same time, increasing pressure is observed both from competition and customers. The way to be competitive is by improving manufacturing and services offered to the customer. These are the major challenges of contemporary enterprises. Organizations are improving their activities and management processes. This is necessary to manage the seemingly intensifying competitive markets successfully. Enterprises apply business-optimizing solutions to meet new challenges and conditions. This way ensuring effective development for long-term competitiveness in a global environment. This is necessary for the implementation of qualitative changes in the industrial policy. "Process Control and Production Management" (MTS 2018) is a collection of research papers from an international authorship. The authors present case studies and empirical research, which illustrates the progressive trends in business process management and the drive to increase enterprise sustainability development.
About the Author: Bohuslava Mihalčová is full time professor and she chairs the Department of Management of the Faculty of Business Economics of the University of Economics in Bratislava with seat in Kosice. In 2001 and 2008 she earned her 1st and 2nd PhD degree and in 2008 she was titled university professor. She is an author of monographs, textbooks, scientific and professional articles. Most of them are registered in Scopus and WOS databases. She focuses on the management, quality, innovation, planning, business performance and sociology. She prepared and implemented several research projects. She chairs Annual International Scientific Conferences since 2013.
Michal Pruzinský is full-time professor at the Department of Commercial Entrepreneurship of the Faculty of Business Economics of the University of Economics in Bratislava with seat in Kosice. He was awarded a doctor degree in 1983. He is associate professor since 1987 and university professor since 1999. He chaired departments and was called up for positions such as: Vice-dean, Vice-rector and Rector of the Military Academy. He wrote various monographs and textbooks. He visited several universities in Europe and abroad. He focusses on operational research, economics of defense, and strategy. He is well known as a speaker at dozens of international scientific conferences. He acts as the chairman of the Program Committee of International Scientific Conferences MTS.
Barbora Gontkovičová is assistant professor at the Department of Commercial Entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Business Economics of the University of Economics in Bratislava with seat in Kosice. She received her PhD in 2013 at The Faculty of Economics of the Technical University of Kosice. She is co-author of monographs and several scientific articles, several of them are registered in Scopus and Web of Science databases. Her research is focused on business environment, labour market, employee remuneration in enterprises, and marketing management. She participated in several research projects and was the chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Scientific Conference MTS 2014 and vice-chairman of the Program Committee of International Scientific Conference MTS 2018.
Petra Szaryszová works as assistant professor at the Department of Management of the Faculty of Business Economics of the University of Economics in Bratislava with seat in Kosice, where she earned her higher education and later a PhD degree (2012) and currently works as Secretary of the Department. She is co-author of monographs and textbooks and author of scientific articles registered in Scopus database. She focuses on management, management systems, quality, etc. She prepared several research projects and was the chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 4 International Scientific Conferences, ESPM 2015 and MTS 2016-2018.
Lenka Stofová is assistant at the Department of Management of the Faculty of Business Economics of the University of Economics in Bratislava with seat in Kosice. She earned her PhD in 2016. She is author and co-author of scientific papers registered in Scopus database. She focuses on management, management systems and enterprise planning, etc. primarily with focus on the automotive industry. She participated in the preparation and realization of research projects (e.g. young scientists). She was a member of the Organizing Committee of the International Scientific Conference ESPM 2015, and vice-chairman of three International Scientific Conferences MTS 2016-2018.
