Heinrich Mann: Professor Unrat oder Das Ende eines Tyrannen Lesefreundlicher Großdruck in 16-pt-Schrift 1904 schreibt Heinrich Mann in nur wenigen Monaten die Geschichte des alternden Lehrers Raat, der das Fräulein Rosa Fröhlich kennenlernt und damit in sein Verderben stürzt. Professor Unrat oder Das Ende eines Tyrannen ist ein Buch von Weltruhm. Der allerdings stellt sich erst ein Vierteljahrhundert später ein, als 1930 die legendäre Verfilmung des Stoffes mit Marlene Dietrich unter dem Titel Der blaue Engel in die Kinos kommt. Henricus - Edition Deutsche Klassik GmbH Über den Autor: 1871 als erstes Kind des Lübecker Kaufmanns und späteren Senators Thomas Johann Heinrich Mann und dessen brasilianisch-deutscher Ehefrau Julia da Silva-Bruhns in den hanseatischen Wohlstand der Gründerjahre hineingeboren, verlässt Luiz Heinrich Mann das Gymnasium bereits in der Unterprima und absolviert nach einer rasch wieder abgebrochenen Buchhändlerlehre in Dresden ein Volontariat bei S. Fischer in Berlin. Bis zum Kriegsausbruch unternimmt er - in München lebend - ausgedehnte Reisen nach Italien, oft in Begleitung seines jüngeren Bruders Thomas, mit dem er sich 1914 über dessen deutschnationale Anschauung überwirft. Er emigriert mit seiner zweiten Ehefrau Nelly Kröger 1933 nach Frankreich, nachdem die Nazis ihn zunächst aus der Akademie der Künste ausschließen und ihm schließlich die deutsche Staatsbürgerschaft aberkennen. In Paris wird er Vorsitzender des Vorbereitenden Ausschusses der deutschen Volksfront (Lutetia Kreis) und die SPD wählt ihn zu ihrem Ehrenpräsidenten. 1940 fliehen Nelly und er in die USA.
