Projektarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Schulpädagogik, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Erziehungswissenschaften), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Das Spectrum, das Science Center des Deutschen Technikmuseums Berlin, zählt mit seinen etwa 250 interaktiven Experimenten zu den großen Einrichtungen dieser Art in Europa. Es ist der Ort innerhalb des Technikmuseums, an dem lustvolles, selbst bestimmtes Lernen gezielt gefördert wird. Sein Ziel ist es, das Interesse an Naturwissenschaft und Technik zu wecken sowie Jung und Alt dazugehörige Gesetzmäßigkeiten und Methoden nahe zu bringen. Mit seiner lebendigen, interaktiv-spielerischen Vermittlung entsprechender Inhalte scheint dies zu gelingen. So ist das Science Center als Ort außerschulischer und informeller Bildung seit vie-len Jahren beliebt und anerkannt. Es trägt mit der Erfüllung dieses gesellschaftlichen Bil-dungsauftrages seinen Teil dazu bei, den in den verschiedenen Studien (z.B. TIMSS, PISA) aufgezeigten Defiziten in der naturwissenschaftlichen Grundbildung entgegen zu wirken (vgl. Lührs/Neuert 2005, S. 65). In Fortführung der Tradition der 1889 eröffneten Berliner Urania blickt das Spectrum auf über 110 Jahre Historie zurück. Die Urania war seinerzeit das erste Institut der Welt, welches Ex-perimentiersäle für Laien anbot. Die Besucher konnten hier etwa einhundert Versuche zu Me-chanik, Akustik, Elektrizität und Optik selbst ausprobieren. Diese Idee verbreitete sich über das "Deutsche Museum" in München (1906) und das "Palais de la Découverte" in Paris (1937) in mittlerweile über eintausend Science Centers der Welt. Bei der Eröffnung des "Museums für Verkehr und Technik", heute "Deutsches Technikmuse-um Berlin", im Jahre 1983 zeigte das Haus auch etwa 40 Experimente in seiner Experimen-tierabteilung "Versuchsfeld". 1990 zog die Abteilung unter dem neuen Namen "Spectrum" in ein separates Gebäude auf dem Museumsgelände.
