About the Book

In this latest book, A Prophetic Dreamer's Reflections on Life, John E. Desautels reflects back on his life and comments on a number of topics that are relevant for most people facing a complex, modern society. Mr. Desautels is now in his golden years, and these are his thoughts after a lifetime of study and observation. Although this is not a book on dreams, he often proposes using guidance from dreams as a way out of the dilemmas many people face in their daily existence. Mr. Desautels addresses the main challenges that people encounter in their daily lives and offers insights from his many years of meditation and following his dream guidance. He discusses how dreams often provide an answer when all other approaches fail. His thoughts focus on the role of the mind and how we create our problems through lack of self-awareness. He describes a path consisting of attention and exploration of the subconscious that we can follow to smooth our journey through life on this Earth. Belief, metaphysics, the inner voice, illusion, personal responsibility, death, spiritual growth, drugs, fear, aloneness, healing, the soul's purpose, the art of seeing, introspection, and faith are among the many topics discussed. They are reflected on by a prophetic dreamer who has spent a lifetime searching for meaning through meditation and the analysis of his dreams. The answers he found provided solutions to issues in his life and are generally applicable to others' lives. Mr. Desautels perspective is unique because few people can say they have journeyed through life with the daily assistance of their dreams. He realized his insights by applying his dream guidance on a daily basis in a challenging management position at a major corporation. The topics in this small book represent much of what he learned over a lifetime of personal and work challenges. And they provide an inside look at the mind of a prophetic dreamer and how he views life's challenges.
About the Author: John E. Desautels is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Vermont with a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from The Ohio State University. Mr. Desautels has spent a lifetime practicing meditation and applying guidance from his dreams to daily life. In addition to working with guidance from his dreams for over forty years, he had a long career with Eastman Kodak. He served in a variety of managerial positions at Kodak's continuous inkjet facility in Dayton, Ohio, before his retirement in 2008. Mr. Desautels was first introduced to the metaphysical concepts of the famous twentieth-century mystic and psychic Edgar Cayce prior to launching his career at Kodak. As he began practicing meditation and studying his own dreams, the everyday application of what he learned was as important to him as the philosophy. He learned how to use his dreams as guides to build a better future for himself and the people around him. Mr. Desautels is the author of The Man Who Sees Tomorrow in His Dreams. This first book by the author is a biographical account of his life of more than forty years as a dreamer who sees in his dreams the next day's key events, as well as events weeks, months, or even years into the future. In his second book, The Inner Guru: Dreams Reveal Your Future, Mr. Desautels greatly expands on his experience with dreams. This book treats dreams by category with unique insights provided and supported by concrete examples from his own life. Many new dream examples are given, including some prophetic dreams, which are not included in his earlier work. Exercises are also provided to help the reader become a prophetic dreamer.
