About the Author: Monna Arvinen-Barrow, PhD is an Associate Professor in Sport and Performance Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA and an online contributing faculty at the University of St. Augustine, FL, USA. Monna is a Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol.) and an Associate Fellow (AFBPsS) of the British Psychological Society, Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC(R)) and a Fellow (FAASP) of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, a Certified Mental Performance Coach and Exercise Practitioner (UPV sert.) of the Finnish Psychological Association, and an elected expert member of the Finnish Sport Psychology Association. She is the lead editor of three textbooks on psychology of sport injury and has authored 40+ book chapters, 60+ journal articles, and 200+ workshops, seminars, symposia, podcasts, webinars, and conference presentations, published in English, Finnish, Korean, and French. Monna serves the professional sport community as the Establishing Editor-in-Chief of the Journal for Advancing Sport Psychology in Research and as the USA Swimming Safe Sport Chair for Wisconsin Swimming LLC. She provides sport and performance psychology consultancy services for youth, collegiate, and professional athletes in various sports. A fun fact - Monna is a double high school graduate (Riverside, CA and Vantaa, Finland) and her first higher degree is in Technical Fashion Designing which she completed while working as a full-time figure- and synchronized skating coach.
Damien Clement, PhD is a Professor in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology at West Virginia University. Damien is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC(R)), a Fellow (FAASP) of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). He Is currently the Associate Dean of the Honors College at West Virginia University, USA. Damien was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago and pursued his undergraduate and graduate studies in the USA at the University of Charleston (WV) and West Virginia University respectively.
