About the Author: We started this anthology without a clue on what we wanted. In the first two anthologies we were trying to figure out who we were. We have had our troubles and blessings. One of the biggest struggles we had with this anthology is choosing the work we wanted to share. We edit blind but by the third anthology we have grown to know a lot of the writers. We had to take on another editor who didn't know the writing of past puffers. A lot of the writers you will meet in this anthology share their work with each other in other books, magazines and websites. It is so cool to see this community grow in and outside of this book. I believe in the rule of four. Everyone is related or knows everyone by at least four people. It's a fun game to play with a group of friends. Pick a celebrity and figure out how the group knows them by four people. For example, I eat at a local restaurant all the time and when the president came to town he ate there too. Between the waitresses I knew the president by a rule of two. I have spent a good deal of my time using the rule of four with the writers within these pages. I read a lot of anthologies and online zines to see what other editors are doing and everyone in this anthology is connected to each other by a rule of two or three. A lot of friendships have been made within this book and as Carl 'Papa' Palmer says, "This is our anthology." J. D. Salinger first uttered one of my favorite quotes that embody this rare occurrence, "What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author who wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much though." We aim to publish a respective representative mix of what we receive. When all the editors agree on a piece we send an acceptance e-mail. We have been ecstatic to see this project grow. I hope you find something you like in here, or not, we are just glad you are supporting small arts and have hopefully made a friend. When a group of college grads started this anthology we were broke college grads with a lot of extra time. Since the publication of the first anthology we have all gotten jobs, careers and more of a life. We owe a lot of that the writers and readers of this anthology who gave us the drive to achieve more. Thanks for the read. We really do appreciate it.
