About the Book

A young man joined a Cultural Group of drummers, singers and a few dancers. Hakan is a drummer and he can play the "powwow" very well like he is been possessed by the gods. Unknown to Hakan, some of the ladies in his group have developed affinity for him. Chenoa was head over hills in love with Hakan but she dared not say it. It was believed to be a great taboo for a woman to make a marriage proposal to a man. Chenoa tried all her possible best to make Hakan his interest in her but was to no avail.
Hotah lowered the lantern beside him and gently recline on his mattress filled with straw bed. He would have been asleep long time ago but not this particular night. He has been having sleepless nights few days back. Hotah believed life had not treated him fairly. He lost his loving wife through that mysterious circumstance. He was so much devastated and traumatized by his loss that he decided not to marry again but devote his time to cater for 'Hakan' his only son.
For the past few days, Hotah has been recounting how good things were in the past and how gloomy they are now. He really appreciated the way his only son has been taking good care of him. He as well admired the kind of man his son has grown into. He prays the son get a woman that will love and cherish him. On this particular night, Hotah's wish was to join his ancestors instead of being in this sorry state. But he will appreciate if the son marries first before he joins his ancestors.
Hakan meet Jacy at the music and dance festival of which they both felt in love at the first sight. As time goes on, they got to know each other well and married successfully. The fruit of the womb was one major setback faced by the couple in their union. Three years after marriage but the cry of a baby cannot be heard on Hotah's compound. They consulted all the priestess and herbalist in their community and nearby community for help but was to no avail.

Akecheta grew up and became a greater wrestler at their community and the nearby communities. He won almost all his fight but was killed in his final match.
