QURAN RESEARCH TOPICS are topics chosen from Holy Quran Verses which originates from the Arabic language, they have been studied by Scholars and translated into English.
There are many topics to choose from, some are general like Iman, Interest, Family..etc, others are specific like Women, Divorce, and Healing (Shifaa).
To be able to research the topics, one should go through the whole Verses of the Quran and pick both the specific Vocabulary, and/or non specific but refers to same word by different ways through the Verse, or the entire Sura/Chapter.
What matters at the end is how close we become in understanding the specific topic and therefore its ruling, and is not as some people might assume that a ruling is a line of opinion to please the powerful and the ruler.
Family is a central topic which was discussed in the first part of the book, it was made of single Verse Translation and/or Tafsir, which is basically the original verdict or summary of what the scholar found, and if to be read by an English speaking person, then it needs a translation from Arabic- which makes it not fully authentic, but diluted and away from the real target.
Relating topics like Will and Inheritance, divorce, and other topics in second part of the book has the benefit of more than one translation, something I was proud to introduce.
Iman is one of the basic topics of Islam, it can be read and understood by one Verse (285) at end of Sura 2-Al-baqara: (The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." ....)
Family is the largest topic and covers the first half of this book, it has one main Index for close family members, and Secondary Index for Non close relations, and can be found at mid of the book .
Divorce topic is.mainly in the second part of the book, In Islam, there are directions on dispute, reconciliation, and having family members from each side to try and resolve any issue, including the children whom they will be put under the father's control with him paying the ex wife for feeding and looking after the children. Both parties are asked to be fair to each other, the husband is asked not to prevent or delay the ex wife the speedy divorce, and not to use this card as punishment, a speedy re-marriage of the ex should not last more than three months which is the Idda/period of waiting to make sure she is not carrying a baby or expecting. .
Now a days most governments run a family courts - established to deal with those issues.
Interest can be summarized in clear words, No interest allowed whether taking or giving regardless small or large.
The simplest topic family judges have to deal with- while it is the most important- is the Inheritance, whereby God trusted himself alone to look after this issue which affects every member of the family- one of the clear rules is that male takes double the female- not due to lack of justice, but because at the same time he ordered male to have larger duty of looking after the females- sisters, mother..etc. for visits and during our feasts- regardless whether sisters and others are married or not, and regardless if they actually in need of those presents- there are exceptions and situations when females get more.
Many people found this system a fare one and not against the females while male is the bread- earner and yet helping female close relatives all the way non stop.
It is in Palestine, Jordan and many Muslim countries with christian minorities that their Archpishopes and leaders did not mind- to the inheritance (amended) laws, and during the 1400 years of Islam they did voluntarily follow what they saw a fair and independent choice.
