Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2020 im Fachbereich Weltgeschichte - Frühgeschichte, Antike, Note: 1,7, Universität Trier, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Wie fand die Rückeroberung der an die Parther in der Schlacht von Carrhae verlorenen Feldzeichen wirklich statt? Eine Frage, die auch heute von Bedeutung ist. Bei der Aufarbeitung diese Frage setze ich voraus, dass diese Rückeroberung nicht militärisch war und zeige, welchen Einfluss die Selbstdarstellung des Augustus in der Literatur und den Medien der Zeit auf diese Thematik hatte und auch heute noch hat. Die Quellenlage zu diesem Thema ist nicht sehr einfach, da nicht alle Quellen sich heute erhalten oder nur fragmentarisch vorhanden sind. Zur Beantwortung der Frage aus literarischer Sicht wurde die Darstellung des Augustus in seinen Res Gestae, die des Pompeius Trogus in den Historicae Philippicae und Suetons Sicht herangezogen. Manche, wie das Werk des Pompeius Trogus, sind verloren gegangen und lediglich noch in Auszügen andere Autoren vorhanden. Folglich fanden Aufarbeitungen statt, wodurch häufig unklar ist, was übernommen und was überarbeitet wurde. Die Aufarbeitung des Themas aus medialer Sicht beschränkt sich in diesem Fall auf zwei Münztypen und das Brustschild des Augustus von Primaporta. Problematisch ist, dass viele Münzprägungen im Auftrag des Augustus ausgeführt wurden und diese aufgrund dessen folglich einen subjektiven Charakter aufweisen. Dennoch hat dieses Thema eine große Relevanz, da Augustus der Bevölkerung Roms einen militärischen Sieg vortäuschte, den es in Wirklichkeit nicht gegeben hat. Dieser "Sieg" stellt jedoch einen wichtigen Erfolg für die Römer in der römisch-parthischen Geschichte dar, was dieses Thema so interessant macht. Die folgende Aufarbeitung beginnt mit der Darstellung in den Medien und arbeitet sich von den Münzen über das Brustschild des Augustus von Primaporta hin zur Literatur.
