About the Book

Not blessed with common sense or an education, Lizzie Jane and Tommy Joe have a loving relationship. Eccentric and holding strange religious views, they are always willing to help others in need. Privately mocked and scorned, they are referred to as the Ragbag Family. Featuring: -a judgemental gossip who wears many faces -hypocritical pretence -mercenary-minded opportunists who con and sleaze their way up the social ladder at the expense of others -people who are intoxicated by momentary pleasures -victims of the dreaded internal fart - full of wind and self-importance. Tommy Joe has a talent to create a real-life comedy sketch just by being himself. Unable to restrain himself, loud farts come roaring out of him as he lets rip at inopportune moments! With their son in a coma for several months, pioneering surgery in America is his only chance, but the family is too poor to afford it. Tommy Joe pays the ultimate sacrifice for his son to have a lifesaving operation! -But is Lizzie Jane too late to save him? -Can Lizzie Jane remember who she is, or will riches change her forever? -Will their desire to help others falter? -What other price is yet to be paid for Apple Jack's operation? Lizzie and Tommy Joe are simple people living in a corrupt and greedy world. Filled with love for each other and fuelled by desire to help others, their path begins to unravel as they embark on a touching but misguided and hilarious race to save their son's life ...
About the Author: One of twelve children, Wilfie Cummings grew up in Northern Ireland, where he experienced many misguiding influences. It was from this arena that Wilfie began his journey through life. And it would be fair to say that he did not glide gracefully through these early years. After leaving school with the qualifications of a lump of rotten driftwood, it was only in later life following a spell of imprisonment that he realised he had a hidden wisdom and moral aptitude. It was at this point that he developed a strong belief in himself and was inspired to write after witnessing the human ability to hope.
