About the Book

The Rain on the Nile tells one of the master myths of humankind, the story of Aset and Ausar, aka Isis and Osiris, in a play with music and 21st-century theatre light and magic. The play aims to recreate for our time the art and science of the ancient Egyptian ritual theatre, which used precisely combined vibrational frequencies of color, sound, aromas and sacred geometric designs to get the story into our cellular memory, flush out the ancient pain and fear, and lift our communities into the celebration of peace, beauty and freedom. The themes are eternally compelling: King Ausar (Osiris) is murdered by his brother Set and revived by his queen, Aset (Isis) the Birthgiver. Their son Horus grows up to avenge his father in the first version of the Hamlet plot ever to appear on Earth. The story has everything: love and betrayal, courage and sacrifice, bizarre plot twists and surprises, and A resolution unlike anything ever seen in theatre, as the Celebrants -- i.e., the human audience actually decides the outcome of the play. It is an experiment in the Theatre of Light, in which the divine characters are embodied onstage in the bodies of actors and actresses, and also appear in the space above the plying area as life-size, full-color 3D light images. The play combines ancient mythic characters and themes with modern technologies of theatre light, sound and magic. The play is subtitled Holistic Theatre for the Second Renaissance because it comes as the Neteru, the powerful Divine energies of ancient Egypt, emerge into our consciousness again at the moment of our planetary awakening at the beginning of the Age of Aquarius.
About the Author: Dan Furst has been called a kind of spiritual Indiana Jones. He is a spiritual activist whose books and Aquarian Airlines blog, ritual theatre performances and work as a ceremonial artist all drive his main objective of assisting the liberation of Earth and her people into communal consciousness, abundance and freedom at the dawn not the Age of Aquarius. Dan is the author of Dance of the Moon, Surfing Aquarius, and two books on the locational astrology of Astrocartography: Finding Your Best Places and Maps of Power: the Astrocartography of the Great, the Beautiful and the Terrible. He travels extensively. His life is an ongoing astrocartography experiment of testing firsthand the impact of the planet lines in our astral maps. Born in New York, Dan has worked as an award-winning actor, astrologer and ceremonial artist in New York, Japan, Hawaii, India, Egypt and Peru. His books, public speeches, ritual theatre and festival performances in the Americas, Europe, the Mideast and Asia have made him one of the world's most respected authorities on the mythology, astrology and medicine theatre of our awakening into galactic spiritual consciousness. He lived for 11 years in Kyoto, Japan. He was the first foreign actor ever to earn a "geimei" (art name) in the world of classical Japanese kyogen theatre. He was named one of People of the Year, for his achievements in cross-cultural theatre, when Kyoto celebrated its 1200th anniversary in 1994. He is also the first actor to play the beloved Sufi poet Jelal-ud-din Rumi on stage, and his play "An Evening with Rumi" has enchanted audiences in the USA, Egypt and Peru. Dan lived in Egypt 2004 - 2009, singing in the great ancient sacred sites along the Nile and in Sinai, and testing their acoustic and vibrational energies as sound resonating chambers designed to clear and enhance the health and awakening of their people. He has guided groups of spiritual adventurers to sing the actual ancient Egyptian ritual melodies in the holy places where they resonated long ago, and are returning to be heard again now. The Rain on the Nile aims to revive the ancient Egyptian ritual theatre cycle of the Isis and Osiris story. He is at work on Double Harmonies, about the sound science and sacred music of ancient Egypt; and From Hathor to Asklepius, about the birth of holistic medicine in the temple sites of Egypt, Turkey and Greece. He lives in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. Dan can be reached via his website, http: //danfurst.com.
