About the Book

Hello Raine family. Let's get reacquainted. I'm Nova Lorraine, the Founder and Editor in Chief of Raine Magazine. I launched Raine about 12 years ago, to give a platform to those using their creative gifts to change a community - may it be local, regional or international! It's for creative professionals with an entrepreneurial spirit. We aim to empower you through photos of incredible fashion, destinations, art and technology - all things that are interwoven in the life and lifestyle of the creative entrepreneur. We are a unique community, with needs and wants that cover daily inspiration, wellness, spirituality and creativity. If you get emotionally moved by color, nature, a brush stroke, gemstones, textile, a hardcover book or simply someone's smile-in other words, the little things in life - then welcome to our TRIBE. I created Raine to inspire through one of a kind experiences and great imagery. Welcome to my world. As you go through the pages, you will get a sneak peak at the most incredible people my team and I come across in our day-to-day treasure hunt for the next big names in fashion, culture and technology. These entrepreneurs' personal journeys are all unique and inspiring. As a fashion designer, and prior academician, I see life through a different lens. I look for richness and authenticity in everything, from the hue of a fabric, to craftsmanship of an object, to a brand's graphical narrative - it is the quality that counts. From visual storytelling to the inked words on the paper, it all matters! Inside this issue: - Meet Nala Wayans - next the generation of the incredibly artistic and innovative Wayans family - initially introduced to the world through their hit TV Series, In Living Color. Nala showcases her day to evening looks to Raine - allowing us to see her strong and knowing personality through fashion. - Get to know Monaco's Fairmont Hotel - one of Europe's must stay destinations. They offer everything from breathtaking architecture, exquisite cuisine, a lively pool scene, to international fashion. The staff is equally impressive with their bespoke sense of hospitality. - Over a dozen empowering Q & A's from entrepreneurs changing the game in fashion, culture or technology. One standout is Keith Kirkland of Wear Works! He and his team have created a device that has allowed the first blind person to run the New York Marathon. Simply incredible! - Much, much, more - so, what are you waiting for? Turn the pages and get started on your journey through the Raine!
About the Author: BIO Digital media veteran and award winning designer, Nova Lorraine, founded Raine Magazine in 2007. Nova felt compelled to launch Raine after noticing the necessity for many young brands and entrepreneurs in the creative industries to have a media platform committed to their success. The lack of promotion, access to other successful entrepreneurs, funding and basic business acumen were the main drivers behind launching the world's most creative ENTREPRENEURSHIP magazine. As the Editor in Chief of Raine, Nova has had the pleasure of interviewing some of the world's most successful creative entrepreneurs including: Marc Cuban, Daymond John, Kendall Jenner, and Priyanka Chopra to name a few. Before she established Raine, Nova has received many accolades including Haute Couture Designer of the Year and Rising Star Nominations by Fashion Group International. In addition to this esteemed notoriety, her designs have graced the big screen, made television appearances on The View and Oprah, and have been modeled in world-renown fashion publications including Italian Vogue and Essence Magazines. Her early career internships with Michael Kors and Angel Sanchez were the catalysts for shaping Nova's love of branding and visual story telling. With a Masters in Clinical Psychology and a degree from NYC's Fashion Institute of Technology, Nova advises many creative brands and executives as well as enjoys speaking at conferences and universities worldwide.
