Akademische Arbeit aus dem Jahr 2022 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Soziales System und Sozialstruktur, Note: 1,3, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Es lässt sich darauf schließen, dass es eine Verbindung zwischen Rap-Musik und dem abstrakten Begriff des "Spiels" gibt. Beginnt man die beiden Phänomene aus soziologischer Perspektive zu betrachten, lässt sich diese Verbindung nicht mehr so einfach ziehen. Für Roger Caillois bildet die Ästhetik eine Grenzkategorie zwischen Spiel und Realität, da die Effekte der Ästhetik real sind. Rap-Musik zeichnet sich laut Martin Seeliger dadurch aus, dass reale Probleme marginalisierter Gruppen, durch das Medium Musik, provokant in die Öffentlichkeit getragen werden können. Für diese spielerischen Elemente, die in der Realität wirken, liefert Roger Caillois den Begriff des "Spielgeistes". Aus diesen theoretischen Überschneidungspunkten ergibt sich folgende Forschungsfrage: "Inwieweit lässt sich der aus dem Spiel hervorgehende Spielgeist in jener Rapmusik finden, die sich gegen soziale Ungleichheit einsetzt?" Um diese Forschungsfrage zu beantworten, soll zuerst auf Spiel und Rap individuell eingegangen werden. Für die Theorie des Spielbegriffs wird Roger Caillois verwendet werden. Für den theoretischen Teil des Raps stützt sich die Arbeit auf Martin Seeliger und Stefanie Menraths "Represent what?", das die Hip-Hop-Kultur auf ihre performativen Elemente untersucht und Andreas Dörners "Medienkultur und politische Öffentlichkeit". Aus diesen beiden theoretischen Warten wird anschließend eine Theoriesynthese vorgenommen. Es wird also der Spielbegriff nach Caillois mit Theorien des Raps verknüpft. Diese Theoriesynthese soll daraufhin in ein Kategoriensystem destilliert werden. Als Empirie dienen verschiedene Rap-Lieder diverser Interpreten, ein Gedicht, ein Interview und ein Zeitungsbericht. Beendet wird die Arbeit durch ein Fazit, in welchem die Forschungsfrage, soweit möglich, beantwortet werden wird.
