Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2018 im Fachbereich Didaktik - Deutsch - Pädagogik, Sprachwissenschaft, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Hausarbeit analysiert die Novelle "Haie" von Eva Menasse. Hierbei werden der Rassismus, die dazugehörigen Vorurteile und die gescheiterte Integration als Hauptthema detailliert betrachtet. Es werden die verschiedenen auftretenden Charaktere, ihre Beziehung zueinander und die Struktur der Novelle analysiert. Als zusätzliche Analyse der Erzählung wird diese mit dem Werdegang und dem persönlichen, familiären Hintergrund der österreichischen Autorin Eva Menasse verglichen und somit ein Bezug zwischen wahrem Leben und Geschichte hergestellt. "Raupen", "Igel", "Schafe" und "Schlangen" sind nur vier der insgesamt acht Novellen, in denen Eva Menasse mit ihrem Buch "Tiere für Fortgeschrittene" Gesellschaftskritik übt. Tatsächlich geht es hier aber nicht um Tiere, sondern um Menschen, die sehr typische Verhaltensweisen an den Tag legen, bei alltäglichen Themen wie: Einsamkeit, Demenz, politische Korrektheit, Gruppenzwang und Integration. Die Novellen basieren auf einer jahrelangen Sammlung Menasses von Tiermeldungen aus Zeitungen, welche sie auf die Menschen projiziert. Wie die Tiere, die als Titel der Novellen fungieren, unterscheiden sich auch die Hauptcharaktere stark in ihren Eigenschaften. Eva Menasse erzählt in jeder der Novellen aus verschiedenen Perspektiven und zeigt dadurch einen Einblick in verschiedene Lebenswelten, die ihr wahrscheinlich nicht ganz unbekannt sind. Wie zum Beispiel das Leben von Stipendiaten, die zu einer Künstlergemeinschaft gehören, in der Novelle "Schafe", war schließlich auch Menasse vor einigen Jahren Kunststipendiaten der Villa Massimo. Oder auch in "Haie", in der die Großstadtmutter Nora mit Anfeindungen gegen einen kleinen Jungen und seine Familie mit Migrationshintergrund umzugehen versucht.
