About the Author: James N. Roberts Jr. is a retired police chief who currently works as a Realtor. He holds a master's degree in criminal justice administration and attended the fiftieth session of the FBI National Executive Institute in Washington, DC. After first serving with the Monroe Louisiana Police Department, he joined the Shreveport Louisiana Police Department working briefly as a patrol officer before becoming a general investigative detective and eventually serving as a highly effective chief of police.
After retiring in 2003, Roberts began a new career in real estate. When he started hearing about Realtors being attacked on the job, he grew passionate about educating them on crucial safety strategies. In 2012, he established Jim Roberts and Associates, a consulting and private investigations company through which he trains new and experienced Realtors on real estate safety, self-defense techniques, and firearm use.
Married for thirty-nine years, Roberts has two children and five grandchildren.
