About the Book

Wreaking havoc from the Big Easy to the Big Apple, college students Pip and her best pal Sage will stop at nothing to find the truth about Pip's missing childhood sweetheart Cab Moore. Who happens to be an up and coming rapper in the hottest group out of New Orleans (post-Katrina), "RE-SET." Set at an HBCU firmly nestled into the culture of New York City, RE-SET delivers many layers of cross-cultural intrigue and a healthy dose of New Orleans' street vernacular that brings each line to life. This soft-core Urban Lit 'who done it' takes the reader on a wild ride that is anything but predictable. The plot is fueled by an ego-drenched rivalry between record label mogul, Mr. Bizness and pithy NOPDs' Detective Green. Kidnappings, fraud, betrayal, interracial romance, snakes and murder...RE-SET is superbly finished off with an ending that leaves the reader satisfied yet craving more.
About the Author: Jameelah Ra'oof was born and raised in a small suburb of New Orleans, Louisiana, the youngest sibling of six children. Her exposure to the uniquely artistic culture of the city shaped her depth of character and story-telling abilities. "Writing is the one area where my confidence has never wavered, knowing that whatever flowed from my heart would be great." From writing poetry to short stories and plays, she ventured into nonfiction with the publication of her first book, How to Survive Financial Aid, a complex and under-exposed area of the college experience that came very natural to her. Jameelah's most recent project RE-SET, is a wonderfully told work of fiction which exemplifies her true dedication as a writer. A divorced mother of two, Jameelah brings her drive to push forward and her fearless determination to her work as she crafts each page with vivid detail and fresh plots. "In a word, RE-SET was fun. I let my characters play, explore and bask in naivety. I wanted Pip's interracial relationship to be planted in the peripheral and not be the main attraction..." A dedicated writer, Jameelah is currently embarking on her forth publication that has yet to be revealed. "I love the passion and power writers possess, each with a unique voice that creates an opportunity to connect with a fresh audience just waiting for the chance to fall in love with their work."
