About the Book

"Reflections of an Only Child" is both a record of a writer's life lived across several continents and reflections on existence itself, the finding of meaning, happiness and identity. Weaving in and out of this is also the unfolding story of a struggle to fulfil an unusual vocation beyond that of writer and poet as regards the birth data and astrology of Christ. The record and its inquiry starts in London and with the earliest memories most don't retain and the book, which is in two parts, devotes Part One to the formative first ten years. The second part continues through travels and residence in such as France, Ireland, America, Thailand etc and meeting people in different walks of life from media to royalty. The themes, questions and answers ranged across are often unexpected and unusual like the experience of serious depression; and anyone who has wanted to write and be published should read this book.
About the Author: Rollan McCleary was born in England and lives in Australia following many years in Asia. He is a doctor of religious studies through Queensland University, Brisbane, a poet and dramatist and is qualified in astrology with many years experience as a research astrologer. His "Testament of the Magi" (2008) claims to be definitive for the birth of Christ. His first internationally published work was the critical success "The Expansion of God" (1981) on the relations of Christianity to Asian cultures. His "A Special Illumination" (2004) was ground breaking for the study of gay spiritualities. His most recent books are "Where From, Why and Where To: Visiting Tahiti and Life Itself" (2013) and "New Poems and Two Celtic Dramas" (2014).
