There is always tension and dissonance in some way in our everyday lives. Short stories in Reflections suggest looking at what we might not notice. Maybe we should pay more attention.
Most are unobtrusive and unpretentious, but a few can be startling at times. They are clearly or subtly ecosystemic: interconnected in approach, and this links them, even though themes vary and they might not seem similar otherwise. Again, it's about what we don't ordinarily see.
Even though they are fiction, for fun, there are suggestions that it never hurts to be vigilant of our surroundings and to notice the small, keen details that can feel like an apprehensive undertow with threats that are real and rasp against the psyche.
There are surprises, synchronicity, awareness, or not, compassion, unexpected behavior, and unexpected outcomes. Sometimes what happens isn't as predictable as you'd figured.
Every day we can miss the incredible beauty that is everywhere, or the subtle interactions, the hidden undercurrents, or the unnoticed out-of-balance emotions -- the complexities that are interwoven prisms everywhere we look, if only we would see.
Some are science fiction, some are about the cyclical aspect of Nature, some are about people and personalities, and some are about what seem to be ordinary daily life, but all are about what's around us.
More is usually happening than we might think. Time to take a moment.
