Dies gilt natürlich auch für die Inhalte des christlichen Glaubens, vornehmlich der katholischen Kirche, die sich seit Aufkommen der traditionellen Religionskritik immer wieder vor diversen Schriftstellern und Schriftstellerinnen behaupten oder verteidigen muss. Nun, auch die Schmerzgrenze des Christen hat sich mittlerweile nach oben verschoben, und so erscheinen Bücher, die ehemals verpönt waren, nun als Glanzstücke literarischen Schaffens. Gerade Günter Grass kann eine Mittlerrolle zwischen Glauben und Religionskritik zugestanden werden, sind seine Romane doch zutiefst katholisch geprägt und verfügen trotz aller kritischen Elemente über einen theologischen Gehalt, den sich manches spirituelle Büchlein nur wünschen kann. Da die Behandlung religionskritischer Elemente in Grass' Danziger Trilogie das vornehmliche Ziel dieser Arbeit ist, soll auch ein Vertreter der traditionellen Religionskritik als Rahmen für die weitere Betrachtung herangezogen werden. Ludwig Feuerbach kann dafür die richtige Wahl sein - obwohl Karl Marx inhaltlich vielleicht näher läge -, da sein materialistisches und anthropozentrisches Weltverständnis quasi die Grundlage für jene Strömungen darstellt, die jeglicher Religion bis heute kritisch bis ablehnend gegenüberstehen. Diese Arbeit gliedert sich wie folgt: Nach einem erläuternden Kapitel über Ludwig Feuerbach und seine Philosophie, soll auf das Leben und Werk Günter Grass' sowie sein politisches Engagement eingegangen werden. Im Anschluss daran erfolgt die eigentliche Besprechung der "Danziger Trilogie", die erst als Ganzes (Hintergrund und Entstehung) dann in ihren Teilen, "Die Blechtromm
