Magisterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2014 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Arbeit, Ausbildung, Organisation, Note: 1,7, Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen (Soziologisches Institut), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Arbeit beginnt mit einer Begriffsexplikation der Elemente des Übergangs von der Grundschule in die Sekundarstufe I. Da ein nonkonformer Bildungsübergang durch die Eltern erwirkt wird, soll im Anschluss eine Theorie herangezogen werden, die das elterliche Entscheidungsverhalten begründen kann. Hierfür wird das Wert-Erwartungstheoretische Modell von Esser vorgestellt und durch Anmerkungen Beckers ergänzt. Das entscheidende Moment dieser Arbeit ist die Annahme, dass der Übergang auf eine Schulform nicht nur von dem Bildungswunsch der Eltern determiniert wird, sondern auch durch die Tatsache, ob Eltern in der Lage sind, diesen auch zu verwirklichen. Eine potentielle Hürde auf dem Weg zu der Umsetzung des Bildungswunsches stellt eine unerwünschte Schulempfehlung von Seiten der Lehrer dar. Die Ressourcen, die es Eltern ermöglichen, ihre Bildungsabsichten auch gegen eine unerwartete GSE durchzusetzen, werden im Anschluss in der Hypothesengenerierung spezifiziert. Im darauffolgenden Kapitel soll ein Überblick über den aktuellen Forschungsstand gegeben und auf bestehende Differenzen in den Studien hingewiesen werden. Für die in der vorliegenden Arbeit durchgeführten Analysen werden die aktuellen Daten des Nationalen Bildungspanels für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland (National Educational Panel Study, NEPS) aus den Jahren 2010/2011 verwendet. Die Grundgesamtheit der Untersuchung besteht aus Schülern, die im Jahr 2010 auf eine Regelschule wechselten und die fünfte Klasse besuchten. Nach der Beschreibung des Operationalisierungsprozesses wird über erste deskriptive Ergebnisse berichtet und auf mögliche systematische Verzerrungen hingewiesen.
