About the Book
In 2002 Gracelyn Guyol's bipolar II mood swings were halted by doctors trained to treat all mental illnesses without drugs. To help consumers become aware of these options, she has authored three books: Healing Depression & Bipolar Disorder Without Drugs (2006); Who's Crazy Here? Steps to Recovery Without Drugs for nine mental diagnoses (2010); and her 2018 release, Restoring Your Child's Mental Health, 10 Innovative, Drug-free Treatments. Each explains how all-natural, holistic protocols offer genuine healing, in lieu of taking pharmaceutical drugs that mask one's symptoms and cause serious side effects. Chapters in the new book describe 10 holistic treatments that fall into four categories: Quantum Healing. Homeopathy, BioEnergetic Assessment, and Homotoxicology, were developed over the past 200 years. The most widely used alternative medical treatments in the world, due to their effectiveness and low cost, they stimulate the body's own healing systems. Modern Bioresonance devices aid health by eliminating parasites and promoting detoxification. Rebalancing the Brain. The Fisher Wallace Cerebral Stimulator, a cranial electrotherapy device, treats depression, anxiety, insomnia, and pain. Brain Balance Achievement Centers use physical exercises, cognitive stimulation, and nutrition to correct imbalances in brain development in children, treating ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and Tourette's syndrome. NuCalm's cranial electrotherapy stimulation is designed to lower stress levels and improve sleep quality. Neurofeedback trains patients to consciously improved brain wave balance using games, thus ending or lowering the symptoms of many mental disorders. Tapping for Relief. Emotional Freedom Technique is a mind-body therapy that rapidly releases emotional trauma, such as PTSD. By teaching patients how and where to tap on their body, they can permanently release anxiety, rage, or other emotional trauma, usually in 3-5 sessions. Natural Nutrient Repairs. Addiction cravings of all types, from opioids to internet use, are caused by low levels of the neurotransmitter dopamine. Recently, an all-natural, proprietary liquid amino acid and herbal blend was introduced by Kenneth Blum, PhD, a leading addiction researcher for 50 years. Two half-ounce doses, one in the morning and one in the evening, maintains dopamine levels and ends addictive cravings - and costs only $42.99 for a month's supply. Nutrient Power, the final chapter in this book, outlines how specific natural supplements can correct nutritional deficits or excesses (inherited or acquired), halting or reducing the symptoms of schizophrenia and other major mental disorders. According to the World Health Organization, one out of four people in the world will experience a mental illness in their lifetime. The National Institute of Health reports 80-117 million US residents have mental illnesses, yet only 15.7 million receive treatment annually. The problem is this country has only 156,300 mental health practitioners and the numbers are declining. Eighty-nine million mental patients live in professional shortage areas. Forty percent cannot afford any treatment. To improve their ability to find treatment, Gracelyn founded Mind Energy Innovations, Inc., a 501(C)(3) non-profit, in 2017. Its mission is to 1) raise consumer awareness of effective, drug-free, mental health treatments, and 2) sponsor accredited medical seminars for practitioners on holistic therapies, with a goal of increasing patients' access to treatment.
About the Author: In 1991, Gracelyn sold her seven-person California public relations agency and retired mid-life to coastal Connecticut with her husband, intending to travel, garden, and play tennis. Occasional bouts of depression were re-diagnosed as bipolar disorder in1993, changing the course of her life. An antidepressant was prescribed, and things seemed less chaotic. A year later, rapid growth of breast cysts and tumors resulted in her having surgery twice in 12 months. Frightened, she consulted a Naturopathic Doctor to help eliminate any potential causes. Cyst growth stopped, yet one new tumor appeared. Finally suspecting the drug, Guyol tapered off. Within two months her latest tumor disappeared, and new growths ceased. Refusing all psychiatric medications, she found drug-free solutions that halted her bipolar symptoms in 2002. After celebrating, Gracelyn began writing and speaking to raise consumer awareness of all-natural solutions for mental illnesses. She authored Healing Depression & Bipolar Disorder Without Drugs in 2006, delivered day long accredited seminars to medical practitioners in eight cities in 2007, and released her second book in 2010: Who's Crazy Here? Steps to Recovery Without Drugs for nine mental disorders. From 2012 to 2016, she produced over 40 cable TV shows in an on-going series, "Restoring Health Holistically." After the 2013 Newtown School shootings, Gracelyn was asked to serve on the Connecticut Children's Mental Health Task Force, its only member having broad knowledge of alternative mental health treatments. She submitted a 30-page recommendation of ten treatments for children's mental problems to the Task Force in 2014, research she used for her 2018 book: Restoring Your Child's Mental Health, 10 Innovative, Drug-free Treatments. Aware that one out of every four people in the world will experience mental illness in their lifetime, Gracelyn founded a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Mind Energy Innovations, Inc., in 2017. Its mission is to promote drug-free treatment of mental disorders by educating consumers about the many effective options to drugs, and to sponsor accredited, educational seminars for medical practitioners about holistic protocols, thus increasing patients' ability to find effective treatment and enjoy a full life.
