About the Book

This collection of poetry and prose speaks to the heart of the dreamers, and the American Dream, in need of resurrection. For each poem, I sought to find a unique font to match its spirit. I wanted each poem to stand alone. I divided the book into Four Parts. Part One, Dreaming Dreams, expresses who I am, establishing my dreams. In Part Two, Broken Dreams, the poems and prose go into some of the pain and grief in my life, such as losing my father Jay Wolfe, to cancer. There are some political poems about the injustices going on in America, and the theme of lost love is also in this section, which I think most people can relate to.In Part Three, Chasing Dreams goes into my travels and a few places I have lived where I sought to make my dreams come true. There's a poem about my lifelong dream of going to Europe, especially to Scotland, and some prose about going to Stonehenge. These were dreams that have come true.In Part Four, Resurrected Dreams, I write about the death and resurrection of the American Dream, and how by enduring our tests and trials, we can create works of art that inspire others. In this, we dreamers find our immortality, our humanity, and our divinity. Some of the poems shared in the book are award-winning, but most of all, I hope that these poems open the minds and touch the hearts of all who read them.
About the Author: Crystal Wolfe attended college at Indiana Purdue University, and Cayuga College in Auburn, NY. Wolfe has been published in newspapers across the country and has won local literary awards in the community she's from in Indiana. Wolfe currently resides in New York City, where she's done freelance reporting for newspapers, such as the New York Press and the Queens Ledger. She's had approximately 300 of her articles published in newspapers and magazines nation-wide. She's also written political biographies for encyclopedias published specifically for libraries in High Schools and Universities. Wolfe has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for non-profits like the ASPCA and the NRDC, as well as political organizations such as the ACLU and Amnesty International. As one of the organization's top fundraisers, she became a trainer for the company in Los Angeles, CA and Denver, CO. Wolfe has participated in service projects throughout the nation, some of which include: beautification park projects, planting trees, literacy programs, Adopt-A-Highway, volunteering in nursing homes, sending care packages to soldiers in Afghanistan, and has volunteered in food ministries feeding the homeless across the country. Wolfe has put her time and money into serving the homeless by founding her own nonprofit, Catering for the Homeless, to feed the homeless and hungry with the food going to waste from catering companies, schools, and restaurants, feeding thousands of homeless every month in Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx. She is partnering with other nonprofits and churches in food ministry programs, to provide thousands of toiletry items and clothes for the homeless in shelters, subways, and on the streets. Wolfe is working to make Catering for the Homeless a national program because there is enough food going to waste in America that no one in one of the wealthiest countries in the world needs to be hungry. Crystal Wolfe is also the author of Our Invisible Neighbors: Accounts, Causes, and Solutions to the Epidemic of Homelessness in the 21st Century... www.cateringforthehomeless.com cateringforthehomeless@gmail.com
