Seien es Gangsta-Rapper, die arabische Worte in der deutschen Sprache etablieren oder gesellschaftskritische Formationen, welche das aktuelle politische Geschehen in anhand ihrer Musik kommentieren. Rap ist im Jahre 2016 populärer, als es jemals zuvor der Fall war. Erstmals wird dem Genre ein Facettenreichtum anerkannt, das allerdings schon seit Anbeginn der Hip-Hop Kultur existiert. Doch auch wenn mit jedem medialen Aufsehen einige Interpreten ihren Bekanntheitsgrad steigern, bleiben viele Künstler im Verborgenen. Der oben zitierte Künstler Prezident ist der zweiten Künstlergruppe zuzuordnen, auch wenn er sich ideal in aktuelle Feuilleton Artikel fügen könnte. Der "Literaturrapper", wie er des Öfteren von Hip-Hop Magazinen betitelt wird, schreibt nämlich Raptexte, welche sich zum Teil an literarischen Werken orientieren. Doch wie genau rezipiert Prezident literarische Klassiker in moderner Musik? Die Aufgabe dieser Bachelorarbeit ist es zu illustrieren, wie sich diese scheinbaren Divergenzen fügen können. Dafür wird die Hip-Hop Kultur innerhalb einer literaturwissenschaftlichen Terminologie betrachtet, sodass sich bekannte Konzepte der Intertextualität auch auf die Lyrik der Rapmusik anwenden lassen können. Der leitende theoretische Ansatz dafür stammt von dem Strukturalisten Gérard Genette: Dieser hat in seinem Werk "Palimpseste. Die Literatur auf zweiter Stufe." eine umfangreiche Differenzierung des Intertextualitätsbegriffs vorgenommen, welche im ersten Teil dieser Arbeit detailliert erläutert wird. Im Anschluss daran knüpft eine Einführung in die Hip-Hop Kultur an, sodass bereits dort ersichtlich wird, wie sehr der Kosmos der Jugendkultur mit transtextuellen Mustern verknüpft ist.
