About the Book

Rhai-Arn was part of the great Cree Plains Nation, in Alberta Canada. He was of Chieftains blood, but he had been physically abused and tortured by his father. Only through the healing knowledge of an old Chippewa woman True Dove, had his life been saved so many times. Finally, at sixteen, he fled the abuse and sought refuge with his Uncle Willie in Calgary. Rhai-Arn(Wild Feather)Treygar, was to eventually stand tall and then he sought, to call out the one who had abused both his body and soul. His future path, would then lead him to understand others needs and what support he could offer. Rhai-Arn was proud. He understood where his people were now positioned in life. He saw a better future and as circumstance intervened, he challenged the norms of the way they were forced to live. This is Rhai-Arn, s story. The story of a young man with vision, determination, and a strong will to see fair justice for all. It is a story steeped in cultural tradition, heritage and endearing softness and belief, in one's true blooded destiny in life.
About the Author: James Alexander lives in Western Australia. He is now retired and has a passion for telling stories, which now consume much of his free time. Widely travelled, this has fueled a desire to add different backdrops to his writing. Someone that always wanted to put on paper, what ran through his imagination. Now having the opportunity, has fueled the desire to make his stories available to others. A New Zealander by birth, James is of Welsh, English, Irish and Scottish blood. A love of the wilderness, nature and places not normally attuned to daily life. Has fueled the different environments, which permeate his writing. James has a wealth of knowledge about the country of his birth. A knowledge that is shown in the backdrops and characters, of his novels written with New Zealand settings. In the future these novels will reach readers. They bring great insight to many rural and out of the way places, which dot the New Zealand coast line. The characters are real and genuine, be it the drovers, farriers, shepherds, shearers or cooks of the remote areas and stations. A love of horses, dogs, sheep and cattle, is obvious in James New Zealand background novels. James understanding of ethnic races and the differences in cultures, makes the stories he writes, relate to modern day real situations. Situations that touch the very soul of multi culturalism. From the stories, based in Canada with reference to First Nations, Metis and Inuit. To the stories based in New Zealand, that bring forth the true contribution of Maori shepherds, shearers, drovers and farmers. James puts true life into his characters. With the availability of time to indulge this passion, for telling stories. The opportunities are unlimited.
