About the Author: Carol Smith is a Seattle-based poet specializing in satirical and thought-provoking verse. She is a former author of her own weekly column in the West Seattle Herald, dedicated to publishing poetry that was amusing but also made a point. She also had a blog in the Seattle PI online, dedicated to the same purpose.
From Shakespeare to Lewis Carroll, Smith credits her mother with introducing her to a lifelong love of reading and writing at an early age.
When she was older, she found that she had a unique gift for writing rhymes with a special twist-and since then has regularly penned poems celebrating milestones for friends and family members, as well as rhyming op-eds for her local community newspaper.
Rhyme Tasting is Smith's second published poetry collection, after her debut book Rhymes Over Easy. She currently lives in West Seattle with her husband.
