Today, organisations are working towards global competition and as a resultant ample
amount of undue stress are conceded to the employees due to known and unknown reasons.
Essentially, healthcare system is not an exception to such dictum. As the front line of
healthcare providers, nurses have the most frequent interactions with patients. The value of
services that major healthcare organizations and hospitals hope to deliver to patients is
transmitted through their nurses' attitudes and behaviours. Workplace spirituality often
involves one's ultimate purpose in life, bonding to co-workers and other people associated
with work, and to align one's core beliefs with the values of their organization for a
successful career. Nurses spend more time with patients, which require them to be
empathetic and compassionate. Their involvement with patients leads nurses to have more
opportunities to provide spiritual care and to cultivate emotional relationships during
patients' recovery. Indeed, there is a close relationship between the nature of spirituality and
healthcare professions, particularly among nurses.
