Dieses Buch untersuchte die Auswirkungen des E-Portfolios für problembasiertes Lernen auf die syntaktische Komponente des Schreibens und untersuchte auch die Rolle der Schüler, ihre Wahrnehmungen und Vorstellungen über ihr Lernen. Um diese Ziele zu erreichen, wurde eine PBL E-Portfolio-basierte Einheit an der Fakultät für Erziehungswissenschaften einer Universität im Iran, Quchan, sowohl qualitativ als auch quantitativ durchgeführt. Die quantitativen Ergebnisse zeigten eine bemerkenswerte Verbesserung der englischen syntaktischen Komponente der Schreibfertigkeit in der Versuchsgruppe. Die Ergebnisse wiesen auch darauf hin, dass die einfache Veröffentlichung von Aufsätzen, die Online-Bewertung und die Selbsteinschätzung das Lernen erleichtern können. Die qualitativen Ergebnisse zeigten, dass die Wahrnehmungen und Vorstellungen der Schüler eine wichtige Rolle für ihr Lernen spielen. Es zeigte sich auch, dass Studierende mit hohen Vorstellungen und Konzepten in der Lage sind, einen tiefgreifenden Lernansatz zu verfolgen. Folglich waren die Schüler, die in dieser Studie hohe Vorstellungen und Konzepte hatten, diejenigen, die signifikante Fortschritte in ihrer syntaktischen Komponente des Schreibens erzielten.
