About the Book

This collective work explores the oscillations of the French story as it shifts between identitarian closure and an opening up to the Other, from 1880 to the present time. It enables us to trace the contours of a literary genre that can simultaneously unite a national community and bring a cosmopolitan literary community into existence.
About the Author: Anne Cadin, agregee de lettres modernes, docteure en litterature francaise de l'universite Paris-Sorbonne, consacre ses recherches au roman du XX siecle, en particulier au roman policier et ses auteurs oublies . Sa these, intitulee Le Moment americain du roman francais (1945-1950) et realisee sous la direction de M. le professeur Michel Murat, a ete soutenue en mars 2015. Perrine Coudurier est agregee de lettres modernes, et docteure de l'universite Paris-Sorbonne. Elle a soutenu en 2014 une these intitulee Le Mal dans les recits francais des annees 1950: terreur et rhetorique. Ses travaux concernent les relations entre litterature, histoire et politique, ainsi que les liens entre litterature factuelle et fictionnelle. Elle est membre du comite de redaction de la revue Acta fabula. Jessica Desclaux, agregee de lettres modernes, docteure es lettres (2016), est chercheuse en post-doctorat au Centre Vivant-Denon du musee du Louvre et a l'Universite Paris-Sorbonne. En fondant son etude sur le fonds manuscrit conserve a la BnF, elle a consacre sa these aux voyages de Maurice Barres, sous la direction de M. Antoine Compagnon. Marie Gaboriaud, agregee de lettres modernes, est docteure des universites de Paris-Sorbonne, Bonn et Florence (co-diplomation). Ses travaux portent sur la litterature musicale et les questions de representations. Elle a soutenu en 2015 une these intitulee Ce maitre mysterieux. La construction litteraire du mythe de Beethoven sous la Troisieme Republique. Elle a enseigne aux universites Paris-Sorbonne et de Lorraine.
