Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2019 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Beziehungen und Familie, Note: 1,1, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Selbstdarstellung von Personen in Paarbeziehungen in sozialen Medien. Zu diesem Zweck wird eine qualitative Untersuchung am Beispiel von Instagram durchgeführt. Auf der Grundlage von Ralf Bohnsacks dokumentarischer Methode der Bildanalyse werden acht Paardarstellungen ausgewählt und in mehreren Schritten interpretiert. Dabei soll herausgearbeitet werden, wie Paare ihre romantische Beziehung nach außen hin präsentieren und welches Verhalten sie zeigen. Die Ergebnisse werden anschließend in einer Typenbildung strukturiert und in einen größeren Zusammenhang eingeordnet. Unter Anwendung wissenschaftlicher Theorien von Goffman und Illouz soll gezeigt werden, was hinter der Selbstdarstellung eines Menschen oder einer Gruppe steht und welche Rolle der Kapitalismus beziehungsweise der Konsum in den romantischen Beziehungen und deren Darstellung spielt. Dabei soll letztendlich die Frage beantwortet werden, wieso die Paare sich so zeigen, wie sie es tun, und warum der Alltag in solchen Paardarstellungen keine Rolle spielt.
