About the Book

This book tells of the migratory path of three Hebrew boys who scrambled from Black Palestine to Egypt in eighteen fourteen. During this period the slave trade was still in its' 'hay-day' and the three young men were captured as fugitives. They found themselves aboard a ship bound for America. Now these were not your ordinary slaves because they were the sons of kings. "That's right, Kings!" Out of these three young men let us focus on one in particular, Weaver Young Perry, who is the great-grand father of the legendary Gospel Vocalist, Charles Harold Vickers. Mr. Perry is also the son of King Tula Hepa III of "Black" Palestine, the son of King Tula Hepa II. Weaver Young Perry along with his two brothers arrived in the U.S. on a ship. They made their way through the Carolinas and were sold to a rich plantation owner in Atlanta, Georgia by the name of John Perry. During a family reunion in Ellaville, Georgia, Charles learned of his relationship to a family of Kings. He was absolutely elated when he learned of this exhilarating news about his family heritage. His mother informed him all about his family tree. Inside this book you will find several Hebrew religious symbols indicative of Hebrew belief and tribunal customs. The author has prepared this book in such a way that you can both enjoy and learn about anoher great, cultural and historical background. He has described and defined much of the terminology used in the black Hebrew nation. Through his diligent effort you can see that it is the author expressed intent to extend what his mother so graciously passed on to him. Many years ago before there was any modern equipment, people used to tell about their past from one generation to the next. Mr. Vickers has made a valiant effort in preparing this book in order to preserve Ms family's heritage. As you examine this book, you will share in a great privilege as you read about one of the most celebrated careers in recent Gospel history: A history so rich in culture until the author is linked to a prestigious line of Kings, who once reigned in 'Black' Palestine.
About the Author: Charles Vickers is a native of Daytona Beach, Florida. He first appeared on stage at the tender age of six. He was chosen to sing the Lord's Prayer by the late Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune at her college program. The event was held at White Hall on the campus of Bethune Cookman College. Mrs. Bethune asked Mrs. Evelyn Bonner to bring the Bonner's choir members to sing the Lord's Prayer. Mrs. Bonner asked Mrs. Modestine B. Jones who was the choir director to choose a child. She chose Charles Vickers for solo. They made fun of him because he wore jeans and kackies. They said; "We need to choose someone else to represent our school who dresses more beautiful and nicer man he does." Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune became a great inspiration in the life of one, Charles Harold Vickers. Afterwards Dr. Bethune nodded a head of approval to the young singer. She was so amazed to see such a little fellow singing that song with such great enthusiasm! Each day after Charles's sister came home from taking her music lessons she shared what she had learned with him. Charles quickly learned the keys on me piano. He later took lessons from a renowned pianist in Florida. One day the pianist asked Charles to play an anthem for him. So Charles took the music home to practice and later returned to play it for him. The pianist said to Charles; "You have just played that anthem from memory and it sounded better than the original anthem." You are great in your own way." "I wish, I could play from memory like that". At age of fourteen, Charles was chosen by a local radio station WORD to make demonstration records. By the time he turned twenty, Charles signed his first recording contract with King Records. The famous singer James Brown was also on the label of King Records at that time. Although Charles was trained in classical and gospel music, he insists that his talent is God given. Although today his records are playing all over the world, he has yet to receive one penny for all his records. Charles says he has made a few royalties at one time but not much. Someone in the music industry is profiting handsomely off of the efforts of Charles Vickers, but it is certainly not him. A timely lawsuit is definitely a probability. With his outgoing and fun personality, Charles love to meet and talk with everyone, whether they are in rags or have crowns on their heads. He treats people as if they were Kings and Queens.
