About the Book

In Roxanne's Man' Main Malfunction, Roxanne'dra Kopana Davis-Myers finds herself stuck in a hot mess when she...well...I can't reveal that. That will give away too much of the plot. But she does get into a situation that runs her friends off and brings in the police and...hmm. Sorry. Can't go any further there. But how about we discuss Roxanne's husband, Todd, who...hmm. Can't tell you about that, either. That's way too revealing. Gosh, he is deep into what he does like quicksand, too. Perhaps I can talk about Roxanne's girlfriend, Valencia, who just plain freaks out and...uh, oh. Got to keep that piece of drama under wraps, as well. That's way too important to the story. So maybe I can talk about the city and town settings of the heatwave and humidity-ridden South. Yeah. And how Roxanne living high-on-the-hog in her upscale, living-large 'hood is part of the story, too. I can tell you she sports a beautiful black SUV, wears Gucci and Prada, Louis V shades and shines like a sweet Southern African-American sista in the bright Carolina sun. And she loves it all the way up to the time she...well...this is where I risk getting too revealing again. Yes, this story has plots under the plots and subplots that keep the suspense coming like dog-nappers in the night and urban rappers about to fight. The drama keeps rolling like Southern summer thunderstorms. Meanwhile, Roxanne gets so wrapped up in all that she's in until what her husband falls into shakes her up. That's what happens. His main malfunction becomes hers. And it involves so much drama that Roxanne just, oooohhh, I almost gave you the skinny, but I gotta hold back. The only thing I can say is check this one out. There's characters galore and much, much more. I mean, to see what Lincoln D'Tangelo Washington, who's Roxanne's man's buddy, pulls off is enough to make two men kiss a hog before it gets kilt for the barbecue. I'm telling you, if you like urban drama and Southern times and white folks and blacks having a halleluia time one moment and about to shake each other's tree the next, then this one is for you. Just trying to explain why Roxanne's people had to drive all the way from the Florida panhandle to South Carolina to help Roxanne handle her business is enough subplotting to make a reader scream "oooo, yeah." So get this one-Roxanne's Man's Main Malfunction. The malfunction alone is as good as the dysfunction of the experience.
