1500 years prior to the modern day, in the realm of Rehn-Daan, north of the continent of Scullea, an expedition had made history. The legendary exploration Cohort of Faran Serranas set out across from beyond the Far Northern Wastes, traveled south through the northern mountain range- Still known as "Vezara's Neck"- and made contact with some of the multitudes of diverse peoples cradling within the currently recognized Province of Hopevale. When they first arrived, the original Guild framework The Cohort brought with them saw widespread adaptation, and so many of the varied species and cultures that lived in harmony prior had then new purposes, aside from surviving and thriving as individual cultures. Infrastructure, schooling, transportation, technology- All was encompassed in the Guild's basic blueprints for community-centering and systemic accessibility. For hundreds of years, these systems locally operated and proliferated throughout the Province of Hopevale and beyond, establishing other provincial lands and evolving the services available, until a little over two decades ago.
After evolving and transforming into many different vibrant services, a network of governed regions, and hundreds of social infrastructural advancements, the National Guild System, as it was officiated roughly 500 years ago, had completely changed the course of the region. Businesses and legal systems formulated and formed, rulers and battalions rose and fell from sand to dust and back again. Dozens of different sentient species finding camaraderie amongst other ones, setting the natural order and balance off kilter- pushing otherwise peaceful cultures to develop themselves into defensive warrior societies. In this feudal race of survival, it was Humanity that took the lead. The combination of social advancement between generations and pure ingenuity in adapting to technology made Humans a surefire contender for the mantle of "The Cohort." A cabinet of democratic decision-makers that was passed from one organization, or "Guild," to another through a largely-political process of data collection and community representation. With that said, it was very common, for hundreds of years, that The Cohort was still made up of a multi-species group of individuals, hailing from many reaches of the Realm.
About two decades ago, the Local Guild System had given way to an overlord: the International Guild Network. For hundreds of years, the National Guild System benefitted not only Humans, but all those willing to live within its social framework. This changed further as the years passed by- More and more diverse species of peoples not directly tied to the Guild System were cut off, or restructured- Local Guilds closed, ending long dynasties of family history. But why, who exactly benefitted from this slow boiling of the old ways?
This was the question that itched in the back of one of our main heroes' minds; Mirabel Rushgore found herself tangled within a web of historical confusion within her hometown, Valehome. With the help of her squadmates, Rolph Hemself and Ord Heraldan, she will begin to discover the path to understanding the roiling tides, and her family's direct ties to those involved in the grand schemes unfolding on the streets of Valehome and roadways stretching across the province of Hopevale- The Order of Halcyon, and Hall of Scales.
