Hoping to find others to spend the day with, Ryan the black caiman discovers more ... true and genuine friendships.
Reviews "My kids loved it! Along with the sweet story, the colorful words Ms. Gambino uses open up new vocabulary choices for my kids. Plus we love animals- a well-written, catchy book about friendship and animals is a hit in our house!"
"I enjoyed the story of friendship and kindness shown among strangers that turned into love. I, also, learned a lot about the Black Caiman. I appreciate the great job on the illustrations in the book. I feel children will enjoy the experience of reading this story."
"I would recommend this book to people of any age. This is a wonderful story which shows how strangers can become best friends and how to stop or avoid a bully. I love the illustrations. I purchased the hard copy of this book and love the soft warm feel of the cover and the illustrations throughout the book."
About the Author: Based in Austin, TX, Shannon is surrounded by its natural beauty and immersed in its eclectic charm. She and her two children are inseparable and travel the world together by car, plane, book or video game.
A 'Jack of All Trades' so-to-speak, Shannon has quite a lot on her plate. She shares her time with her kiddos, volunteers at school, plays bass for an all-girls rock band, copyedits/publishes works of Indie authors, blogs book reviews for independent authors, writes poetry, drinks way too much hot chocolate from Starbucks, and works as an IT guru on the weekends.
Ryan the Black Caiman is Shannon's first children's story, written for her son as he studied the black caiman for his Quest research project. He wanted a way to not only learn about the black caiman but also help them and their habitat. Brainstorming together yielded the fable: Ryan the Black Caiman and His Unusual Friends. We hope you liked it as much as we enjoyed writing and illustrating it.
