Saberes con sabor: Culturas hispánicas a través de la cocina es un manual avanzado que responde al creciente interés por el estudio de las prácticas culinarias y alimenticias de Ibero-América, sin desatender ni la lengua ni la cultura de esas regiones del mundo.

Cada capítulo comprende aspectos vinculados con recetas, lengua, arte y teoría. Los estudiantes son expuestos a temas de geografía, historia, literatura, política, economía, religión, música e, incluso, cuestiones de género que estarían implicadas en la elaboración y en el consumo de ciertas comidas. Y, esto, mientras mejoran sus habilidades en temas esenciales y específicos del español. About the Author:

Conxita Domènech es Associate Professor de Literaturas y Culturas Ibericas en el Departamento de Lenguas Modernas y Clasicas de la University of Wyoming. Asimismo, es Assistant Managing Editor de la revista Hispania. Obtuvo su doctorado en la University of Colorado Boulder en 2010. Es autora de La Guerra dels Segadors en comedias y en panfletos ibericos: Una historia contada a dos voces (1640-1652) (Reichenberger 2016). Es co-autora y co-editora con Andres Lema-Hincapie de Letras hispanicas en la gran pantalla: De la literatura al cine (Routledge 2017), Pedro Calderon de la Barca's La vida es sueno: Philosophical Crossroads (Juan de la Cuesta 2014), Ventura Pons: Una mirada excepcional desde el cine catalan (Vervuert/Iberoamericana 2015), El Segundo Quijote (1615): Nuevas interpretaciones cuatro siglos despues (Vervuert/Iberoamericana 2018) e Indiscreet Fantasies: Iberian Queer Cinema (Bucknell University Press 2020). Sus ensayos han aparecido en Hispanic Review, Anales Cervantinos, Bulletin of Hispanic Studies, Catalan Review, Hispanofila, Bulletin of the Comediantes, Revista Canadiense de Estudios Hispanicos, Hispania, Hispanic Studies Review, Ometeca, Millars, Transitions, Neophilologus, Romance Quarterly, Signos Literarios, Rocky Mountain Review, Cefiro, Caplletra y Confluencia, asi como en volumenes colectivos. Ha obtenido becas para proyectos de ensenanza y de investigacion (Institut Ramon Llull, Ministerio de Educacion, Cultura y Deporte, University of Wyoming, University of Colorado Denver y University of Colorado Boulder). Ha recibido diversas distinciones academicas: George Duke Humphrey Distinguished Faculty Award (2017), Extraordinary Merit Award in Teaching (2016), Extraordinary Merit Award in Research (2015) y Excellence in Teaching Award (2009).

Andrés Lema-Hincapié es Associate Professor de Literaturas y de Culturas Ibero-Americanas en la University of Colorado Denver. Es Doctor en Filosofia de la Universite d'Ottawa (1998) y Doctor en Estudios Romanicos de Cornell University (2008). Es autor de Borges, . . . .filosofo? (Instituto Caro y Cuervo 2013) y de Kant y Biblia: Principios kantianos de exegesis biblica (Anthropos 2006). Sus ensayos han aparecido en Ibero-Americana Praguensia (Republica Checa), Revista de Occidente (Espana), Bulletin Hispanique (Francia), Revista de Filosofia (Costa Rica), Daimon (Espana), Contrastes (Espana), Praxis Filosofica (Colombia), Ideas y Valores (Colombia), Revista Canadiense de Estudios Hispanicos y en ediciones colectivas. Ademas de las obras en co-autoria o en co-edicion con Conxita Domenech, Andres Lema-Hincapie es co-editor de Despite All Adversities: Spanish-American Queer Cinema (State University of New York Press 2015) y de Burning Darkness: A Half Century of Spanish Cinema (State University of New York 2008). Entre sus distinciones academicas hay visiting fellowships (University of Edinburgh, 1999; Cornell University, 2000-01), doctoral fellowships (Universite d'Ottawa y Ministerio de Educacion de la Provincia de Ontario, 1993-7; Cornell University, 2001-6; Cornell University's Society for the Humanities, 2002) y el Stephen and Margery Russell Distinguished Teaching Award (2005). Con el critico colombiano Conrado Zuluaga Osorio, y desde 2009, Lema-Hincapie es co-director del Proyecto Gabriel Garcia Marquez en la University of Colorado Denver. Por ultimo, con Jeff Schweinfest, Lema-Hincapie co-fundo y co-dirige la primera version de la International Queer Biennial Arts and Academic Conference.
