About the Author: Walt F.J. Goodridge is a Columbia University graduate, former civil engineer, author and entrepreneur who, in 2006, "discovered" Saipan, booked a one-way ticket, and escaped from New York to live out his "nomadpreneur" dream life on this Pacific island paradise. Once on the island, and wanting to be a part of the re-branding of Saipan's image, he conceived and launched the WeLoveSaipan.com website, Saipanliving.com, and over a dozen additional sites devoted to showing the world the often overlooked images and impressions of Saipan, CNMI (Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands). [See BestofSaipan.com for links to all sites.] For five years, Walt wrote a weekly business column for the Saipan Tribune entitled "The Saipanpreneur Project." He has written Doing Business on Saipan to encourage entrepreneurial activity and investment on the island. He co-authored Chicken Feathers and Garlic Skin: Diary of a Chinese Garment Factory Girl on Saipan with with former garment factory worker Chun Yu Wang. He is the founder of Destination Saipan Marketing, Inc., and was recently recognized by official CNMI Senate Resolution No. 15- 54 for his invaluable contributions to Saipan, its residents and economy. Walt currently owns and operates over 30 websites, has written a total of 20 books, over 400 business and motivational articles and almost 500 inspiration poems. Walt is originally from the island of Jamaica. You can read about his first year and impressions of Saipan in the book Jamaican on Saipan!
