About the Book

Sam Draper is an ordinary 14-year-old boy from Ross-on-Wye, he lives with his mother Carol Roberts. Sam goes to the local High School and it is said there that he is a nice boy who could do much better. On a typical Saturday morning, Carol has gone to work at the local Sainsburys and Sam is out and about on his BMX bike. Sam was riding his BMX along the Town & Country Trail when he noticed a young couple running through the field on his left that comes out just ahead of where he was cycling. Sam slowed down expecting the young couple to appear on the path just before him. However, there was suddenly an extremely bright flash of light just where the couple had been running and Sam thought he could see a dark figure within the bright light. This dark figure had a clawed hand that grabbed hold of the couple and pulled them into the light. Then in a second the bright light, the dark figure and the young couple had all gone, vanished into thin air. Sam put down his bike and looked around the path and the field for anything that might explain what he had just witnessed. But there was nothing there, just an empty field and quite a big field at that, roughly about 4 acres. The visibility was good on this lovely April morning the birds were singing and there was a soft gentle breeze. Sam picked up his bike and cycled home, later his mother came home from work and Sam explained to her what he had seen. Carol said that it was most probably lightning and that it happened nearby. Sam was more than likely slightly shaken and dizzy. Sam then mentioned the dark creature with the clawed hand and Carol said you have not been smoking the weed again, have you? Sam was not amused and he went up to his bedroom, where he decided to inform everyone about his encounter via social media. However, the replies were not necessarily what Sam had expected he thought he was warning them about an apparent danger and they had replied to him as if he was an idiot, a dreamer and at best a liar. Sam thought I will show them who is an idiot and he then began to investigate what he had witnessed and he began an extremely amazing Science-Fiction adventure that took him into the DARK LIGHT.
