About the Book

English summary: Catalogue of the exhibit held at the Uffizi in 2009 on Renaissance portraiture, and specifically of famous Florentine men portrayed in the collections of Cosmo Medici I. Central to and representative of the exhibit is the portrait of Alessandro Achillini (1463-1512), anatomist, philosopher and humanist. Francesca de Luca provides an historical presentation for the works, immersing visitors in Italian history through Renaissance culture and its protagonists. Italian text.
