About the Book

"Sax and the Higher Self" is intended for the intermediate to advanced student and performer. The basic premise of this work is that there are really two instruments that the aspiring sax player has to learn, not one. The first is the sax itself with all of it's nuances. The second is the HOS, Human Operating System. This raises the learning process to a Spiritual Path. The book teaches the student the most direct and effective way to make progress in learning. It is intended to keep the student out of the traps that sidetrack most aspirants along the way. It shows the student how to get the mental apparatus to work to work smoothly and without frustration. it is not a "Quick Fix" book. Dedication is necessary to make the substantive changes in the student necessary to become the Master. With focused dedication and practice, the student should be able to master this material in four to five years. Whereas most colleges will overburden the left brain, "Sax and the Higher Self" is designed to show the student how to access the right brain where the real creative processes happen. My aim is to take the student down the right path so that he will not get caught up in the traps of Drugs and alcohol. The parts of this book that deal with the sax itself include information that took over five decades to find solutions that no other teacher could provide. It takes out the trial and error in solving problems with the physical sax. And it eliminates frustration in making the horn work properly. Bottom line is that the student/player will get to his goals much quicker and with much less expense. The price of this book should be less than the cost of one lesson with a top professional teacher and provide a hundred times as much info than the student can get in that one lesson. The book can be used in conjunction with other teaching methods or as a stand alone teaching guide.
