About the Book

Viele, die Tettenborn und sein Werk kennen, nennen ihn einen "Grenzgänger". Das ist eine zutreffende Bezeichnung. Immer wieder hat er versucht, in seinen Erzählungen, Romanen und Theaterstücken bis an die Grenzen zu gehen. Besonders in seinen Erzählungen wird dies deutlich. Er will keine Geschichten erzählen, um Geschichten zu erzählen - er will Geschichten erzählen, die sich in ihren Geschichten ausschöpfen, die an den Rand der Begebenheiten stoßen. Wer sich auf die Lektüre einlässt, wird schnell von der Eigenart seiner Berichte und Sprache eingefangen. Für ihn ist die "evolutionäre Ich-Begrenzung" des Menschen eine äußere, aber nicht die äußerste Grenze. Sich mit seinen Werken zu beschäftigen, ist ein subtiler, ästhetischer Genuss. So auch in diesem Band.
About the Author: Geboren in Ottendorf, Thüringen. Gymnasium in Jena, Soldat, verwundet 1942, danach Studium Uni Jena und Wien. Germanistik, Philosophie, Theaterwissenschaft. Schauspielschule Weimar, promoviert zum Dr.phil.. Von 1945-48 arbeitet er als Chefdramaturg, Spielleiter und Schauspieler am Stadttheater Jena. In gleicher Position ist er von 1948-50 an der Bühne Erfurt tätig. Nach seiner Flucht nach Westberlin ist er dort Dramaturg an der Tribüne und geht 1952 für zehn Jahre als Dramaturg an das Berliner Schillertheater, anschließend zunächst als Stellvertretender Chefdramaturg, später als Redaktionsleiter der Hauptabteilung 'Fernsehspiel und Film' zum ZDF, bis er ab 1980 ganz als freier Schriftsteller arbeitet. Zu seinen bekanntesten Bühnenwerken zählen: 1951 'Perspektiven', Uraufführung Tribüne Berlin; 1981 'Der Mann auf dem Sockel', Uraufführung Städtische Bühnen Mainz; 1981 'Tilmann Riemenschneider', Festpiel zum 450.Todestag von Riemenschneider in Würzburg; 1990 'Die Dornenkrone hab ich mir geflochten', Uraufführung Ernst-Deutsch-Theater Hamburg und 1998 'Klaas Störtebeker - Eine Piratenrevue', Musical, Husumer Theaterhafen. Seine Romane erschienen in namhaften Verlagen, so z.B. 1972 'Nur ein einziger Tag' und 1977 'Die Anstalt bedauert' im Verlag Fritz Molden; 1993 'Korruption', bei Hoffmann & Campe und 2000 'Die schier unglaublichen Erlebnisse des Soldaten EWIG Fersing' im Tetens Verlag. Erzählungen und Lyrik gehören ebendso zu seinem Repertoire wie Hörspiele.
